The terrace and the resort do different jobs. One gives you a place to sit still. The other gives you somewhere to go without leaving the neighbourhood.
Fuengirola and Carvajal, close enough to matter
Fuengirola proper, with its long beachfront, its Tuesday market and its old town streets behind the paseo, is a short drive or train ride from Higuerón. Carvajal, the smaller settlement at the resort's edge, is more of a village: a train halt, a stretch of beach, a handful of chiringuitos that do not change much from one summer to the next.
Málaga Airport sits roughly 15 minutes away by car, and Málaga city around 20, which makes this stretch of coast genuinely workable for someone who travels often, or who wants family and friends to visit without a long drive from the runway. For a home to sell one thing above all, it would be this: the sense of being fully equipped, inside its own gates, while still sitting close to a real town with a real rhythm of its own.
